Paul Bearman Mr Paul Bearman, General Manager

Paul Bearman joined WyvernHealth.Com as General Manager in October 2007. He has worked with the health service since the 1990s, initially as an External Auditor and, prior to joining WH.C, as a management consultant advising PCTs who were in financial turnaround. He was also involved in developing World Class Commissioning across the South Central Strategic Health Authority.




Mendip


Nick Matthews

Nick Matthews, GP, Glastonbury

Dr Nick Matthews is a GP partner and trainer based in Glastonbury. He also works as a GPwSI on behalf of Mendip/Somerset PCT in Cardiology. He has a broad range of clinical interests including mental health, substance misuse, minor surgery and intermediate care as well as cardiovascular medicine. This is his first foray into the world of the PCT and service planning and he is lead on information for commissioning on behalf of the board.

Jim Milner

Jim Milner, Practice Manager, Bruton

Jim Milner has been the Practice Manager at The Bruton Surgery for the last four and a half years. His working background is as a senior manager for over twenty years in the business advisory and corporate recovery departments of major accountancy firms based in Bristol and five years as the financial controller of a group of companies training, supplying and promoting mediation as an alternative to court as a method of settling legal disputes. New to the NHS in 2005 he looks to bring a practical, common sense approach to the post. He has been a Practice Manager Assessor carrying out QOF visits for the Somerset Primary Care Trust since 2008.


Somerset Coast

Matthew Dolman

Matthew Dolman (Vice-Chair), GP, Axbridge

Dr Matthew Dolman has been a full-time GP Principal in Axbridge and Wedmore for the last 10 years. He has been a Somerset LMC Committee Member for the last nine years and is Vice Chairman of WyvernHealth.Com. He has been involved with Practice Based Commissioning from its inception and believes it can deliver better healthcare for the patients of Somerset given the right environment. WyvernHealth.Com can create that environment by working with the Practices, the PCT and Providers. His specific role within the organisation is to develop the communication strategy to an optimum.

David Rooke

David Rooke (Chair), GP, Bridgwater

Dr David Rooke is a GP based in Bridgwater. He is the Chair of WyverHealth.Com. He is determined to lead the PBC agenda forward for the benefit of patient care, facilitating service redesign to allow delivery of care closer to the patient. He is keen to move forward on the agenda of eliminating waiting lists. He has been involved in commissioning healthcare for many years and admits that some of this time has been incredibly frustrating. He is determined to succeed and gain genuine service improvement through investment in primary care, interface and secondary care services. He realises that this challenge is daunting and would greatly appreciate the support of clinicians and managers in the healthcare community to achieve our aims.


South Somerset

Dr Sarah Pearce

Sarah Pearce, GP, Chard

Dr Sarah Pearce is a GP Principal at Springmead Surgery in Chard where she has been working for the last four years. She works for the emergency care service and also enjoys teaching students in practice. She believes very much that care in the community from "the cradle to the grave" should be protected and developed to its full potential and sees her election to the board as the ideal opportunity to take an active role in shaping the future of general practice. Sarah has special interests in paediatrics and mental health issues and sees her greatest asset as being a frontline primary care doctor; an ideal starting place to spot potentials for improvements in local services.

Anne Salkeld

Anne Salkeld, GP, Yeovil

Dr Anne Salkeld is a half-time GP in Hendford Lodge Medical Centre in Yeovil. She moved there from a practice in London in 2001. She has been an appraiser in South Somerset since 2002. She is a member of WyvernHealth.Com's Board and represents South Somerset primary care. She also acts as a link with the UCIG where she is Lead GP for Enhanced Community Services (with the aim of improving the accessibility of community alternatives to hospital admission for patients referred through Primary Link).


Taunton Area

Michael Gorman

Mike Gorman, GP, Taunton

Dr Michael Gorman is a half-time GP based in Blackbrook Surgery, Taunton. He qualified in Belfast before moving to the locality in 1997 and completed his post-graduate training. He worked as a police surgeon for six years and sat on the Taunton PCT PEC for 18 months, prior to its amalgamation into the Somerset PCT. He is the current lead for finances within the board, sits on the urgent care implementation group and has recently taken up the role of ENT lead.

Dr Rosie Benneyworth

Rosie Benneyworth, GP, Taunton

Dr Rosie Benneyworth is a GP partner and trainer at St James Medical Centre in Taunton. She is the GP lead for the Emotional health and wellbeing service in Somerset, and also is working with the flexible healthcare groups for rheumatology, orthopaedics and gynaecology. She has had previous experience working for a steering group looking at setting up a provider organisation and as a board member of Taunton Health Ltd. Rosie feels that PBC is a fantastic opportunity for clinicians to shape, develop and improve the services that are provided for their patients to ensure excellent levels of care for them.
